Even before the first Xenoblade 3 trailer, I knew they were going to do something stupid. And so they did: they made it even more of a sequel to XC1 than XC2 is. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but when I became interested in this series, it was explicitly because the games (two at the time) had nothing to do with each other. But so it is, and I have to deal with that. (And I can't deny that Nia is fun to write.)
Step one: fix Melia's involvement in the plot. While on the surface she's been stuffed in a can until released, there are enough hints to reasonably conclude that she's fully able but simply waiting. Since this only increases the parallel to Zanza, I roll with it.

Notes & Trivia
- In truth, Moebius is not enough of an outside-context problem that Shulk had to have experience with Smash Bros. to realise could exist. But the basic idea is there, that the extra defences were effective against the threat that did arise.
- Eunie is "thick-blooded" compared to the other part-High Entia being "thin-blooded". Lanz is an "Accelerated Machina", a new type of Machina designed to have a more Homs-like lifespan. Taion looks like a normal guy, so he has to be either Ardainian or Leftherian.
- Melia is just looking at the surface-level records, so maybe she's suspicious, but she doesn't fully recognise Riku at this point.
- "Danya" and "Fauna" are the names of the Castle Ferronises. Danya is a Hebrew name for "god's judgement", and Fauna is a Roman goddess of fertility/healing, matching the themes of both the queens and the nations.
